SECTION 8 – DISPUTE / PROTEST PROCEDURE

 

1.      In the event of a player or snooker team wishing to lodge a protest, the following procedure will apply:

a.      The protest must be raised within 7 days of the event occurring, by submitting the full details in writing together with a £5 deposit to the Honorary Secretary.

b.      The Honorary Secretary will convene a meeting of the General Committee to hear the protest at the earliest possible date, but not later than 14 days after receiving the written protest.

c.      The decision of the General Committee will be communicated in writing to the person who lodged the protest within 7 days of the meeting.

2.      In the event of a player or snooker team objecting to a decision of the General Committee, and lodging an appeal, the following procedure will apply:

a.      The appeal must be raised within 14 days of the date of the decision, by submitting the full grounds of appeal in writing together with a £5 deposit to the Honorary Secretary.

b.      The Honorary Secretary will convene a meeting of the Executive Committee to hear the appeal at the earliest possible date, but not later than 14 days after receiving the written appeal. The Executive Committee may request the attendance of the player lodging the appeal, or a representative of the team. They may also request the attendance of any other person involved in the disputed event.

c.      The decision of the Executive Committee will be final. The decision will be communicated in writing to the person who lodged the appeal within 7 days of the meeting.

d.      If the appeal is upheld, the £5 deposit will be refunded.
