About the Guernsey Billiards & Snooker Association

The constitution of the GB&SA states that it is formed with the object of fostering amateur snooker and billiards in the Island.

The Association arranges and controls the running of a snooker league comprising of 24 teams within four divisions and individual billiards leagues in both straight and handicap formats.

It also runs eight knockout competitions for teams and individuals to enter, culminating in Island champions who go on to represent Guernsey in the Inter Insulars against Jersey.

The Association also holds a number of tournaments, including the Guernsey Snooker Open, a Snooker Shootout and a Scotch Doubles Snooker Handicap.

Whilst it is a male dominated sport on the island, women have regularly competed, with some of our ladies players taking part in national competitions.

The future ambitions of the Association are:

  1. To re-ignite junior interest, and re-introduce junior competitions not held since 1998.

  2. To encourage and aid players to participate in higher level competitions offshore.

  3. To re-establish official referees through appropriate coaching and qualifications.

Our aim with this website is to provide players and supporters of local snooker and billiards with information about the sport, specifically covering fixtures, results, tables, news and some history.

Updates are posted regularly - often daily during the playing season - just click on the relevant section to view more details.

If you are visiting our website from outside of Guernsey or you are not currently an active league player and would like to know more about us, our Contact details can be found at the bottom of the page.
